(boys will compete in same rank categories)
WHAT EACH CUB NEEDS TO BRING
A Pit Crew! This is vital for a successful race. This crew must have at least two members which can consist of moms, dads, siblings, or anyone else they'd like to assign to this most important team.
A pair of lace up shoes and socks. If your son only has Velcro shoes please bring a pair of laces.
A pair of goggles. In the race your boy will need his ‘windshield’ cleaned!
A Cubannapolis cardboard car, decorated.
CUBANNAPOLIS RULES
The Cub Scout Promise and Law are the basic rules of the race. Plus the following:
Registered Cub Scouts only (Tigers thru Webelos II).
Cub Scouts compete on their own, not as part of a den or pack.
Cars are to be constructed from a cardboard box. The box must be at least 24" long, 12" wide, and 12" high. The box may be larger but it CANNOT be any smaller.
The car MUST be decorated the way the Cub Scout wishes. The boy’s name and den number should be printed or painted on the car somewhere in sight.
The event will consist of 4 heats. 1st- The boy will have his windshield cleaned in the pit. 2nd- The boy will receive fuel by drinking a small cup of water. 3rd- The boy will get his tires changed by removing shoes & socks then replacing the socks on inside-out and shoes back on and tied. Then on to the last and final lap, 4th- No stops, on to the finish line!
Awards presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each rank, and Best Decorated Car!
